After having thoroughly analyzed the calendar of the various national leagues concerned and with the aim of identifying a solution that would be suitable – as far as possible – to the needs of the four participating teams, the European Volleyball Confederation is pleased to inform that the final four of the 2009/2010 CEV Indesit Champions League has been re-scheduled for next May 1-2 and will take place at the Atlas Arena in Lodz as it was initially foreseen.

Lodz, Poland, April 10, 2010. With the Polish Government having decided to cancel all public events, including sport competitions, starting this weekend and to call for national mourning to commemorate the President of the Polish Republic - Mr. Lech Kaczynski - and the many other victims that passed away in the plane crash that occurred earlier this morning in Smolensk (Russia), the local organizers – namely the club of PGE Skra BELCHATOW and the Polish Volleyball Federation – agreed with the CEV officials that they were no longer in the position to stage the final four tournament of the 2009/2010 CEV Indesit Champions League as it was initially foreseen.

All journalists that are planning to attend the final four of the 2009/2010 CEV Indesit Champions League scheduled for next April 10-11 are kindly requested to register and submit their accreditation form to be found here. All forms have to be returned exclusively to the local organizers of PGE Skra BELCHATOW by next April 6, 2010 (e-mail: klub(aa)skra.pl).
